Marsa, Maltese for port.  Xlokk, Maltese for Sirocco, the winds that come in from north Africa and bring storms to the Mediterranean.  A sleepy fishing village on the southeast end of Malta.  Surrounded by sparkling seas, small farms, and ancient ruins.  Nearby Ghar Dalam cave contains oldest evidence of human habitation on Malta (7,500 years ago), and fossils from dwarf elephants, hippos, bears and other fauna deposited between 500,000 and 10,000 years ago.
Sunday Morning Fish Market
The market gets quite crowded from day tourists, but just after sunrise, when the vendors are still setting up, and local residents are buying fish and produce, all is calm and peaceful.
